Science for hope
I-BFM is a globally renowned group doing research on every aspect related to pediatric leukemias and lymphomas. Since more than 40 years, the I-BFM network works to advance the cure rate and the quality of life of children and adolescents with pediatric hematological malignancies.
Pediatric cancer is rare, but it is one of the main causes of death by disease in children and adolescents. Leukemia and lymphoma account for approximately half of the cases in this age group. Since decades, studies on these cancers are considered as a model for clinical and basic research beyond pediatric hematology-oncology.
I-BFM regroups a growing number of national study groups from more than 34 countries worldwide, and its committees and working groups address specific aspects of research on pediatric leukemia and lymphoma. All groups share their results at the regular I-BFM meetings, ensuring a fast translation of research findings into clinical care.
